Gene Kelly, Syd Charise great story, and music.
If not in the movie they certainly were in the local college production they did this last summer. All kinds of kilts. but with all the jumping and leaping they weren't regimental

I'll tell you what would be a real challenge, though...
...having just finished the original Monarch of the Glen book, I think that that would be one tough book to adapt into a movie...the humour is firmly rooted in the 1920's or 30's and much of it is a commentary on wacky "movements" that people were joining...the astro-vegetarians and the nutcase hiking society...which I guess was a poke at the trends in England back when the book was written but would be lost on most folks nowadays.
Still....it's one of those books that you start casting the movie for in your mind....although I can think of no one but Julian Fellowes to play Kilwillie...even though this Kilwillie would be the father of the one that we have on the TV series.
But no one has mentioned those immortal Three Stooges classics: The Hot Scots and Scotched in Scotland! McMoe, McLarry and McCurley,,,,nyuk nyuk nyuk!

Tunes of Glory Thumbs way up
Tunes of Glory was great! Came in on Netflix when I checked the mail the other day. Alec Guiness and John Mills have this incredible clash of wills.

What seems on it's way to becoming the cult classic of James Bond films:
On Her Majesty's Secret Service
"Oh, it's TRUE!"

Well the fact that George Lazenby is the only James Bond to wear a kilt maybe the only thing he has over Connery, Moore, and Dalton (that and he gets Diana Rigg! )

Highlander. Great movie. Just mentioning it makes me want to pop it in the VCR. Summed up best by a friend of mine as "a giant Queen music video with sword fighting". It was a favorite for our Fencing Club's Movie Night.
I made the mistake of organizing the Fencing Club at UCSC to go see Highlander II, when it openned. I hope most of them have forgiven me by now.

4. Highlander- stirred the blood even as a spotty wee bairn.
3. Rob Roy- It just rips of course.
2. So I married an Axe Murderer- Mike Myers as his Scottish dad singing "If you want my body, and you think I'm sexy come one baby let me know!"
1. Braveheart- well no medals for guessing that one.
Awesome movies! I've yet to see Formula 51....I'm going to rent it as soon as I can!
(Rob Roy is a personal favorite!)

I saw that movie, but I was a bit bemused about why the air stewardess
covered up Samuel while he was asleep.
