    Blue MacKay has arrived

    Hello all,

The first of my two kilts from USAK arrived in the mail earlier this week. This one was the Blue MacKay pleated to the stripe. I love it. It fits like a glove and the matching flashes are great.

The workmanship on it is excellent. You can really tell that Rocky take exceptional pride in his work.

In addition to the flashes I also purchased a mini-fly plaid. All of my other kilts have had the larger fly plaid made to match, but I thought I'd try to economize and give the smaller size a try. The mini matches the description Rocky gave me 100% and it does look good. But after comparing the flow to my other larger plaids I decided that I really do prefer the look of all that extra cloth. So I've decided to keep the mini for when I want to be dressy but not too ostentatious and then have Rocky make me a bigger plaid too!

I also made another decision on this order that makes it different from my others. The matching flashes are made with a flat frayed bottom edge instead of pointed as are my others. These are currently my only pair of flashes that aren't pointed and I find that I like that look a lot. To me at least it looks more like I might actually be holding up my socks with a length of tartan ribbon.

As soon as I'm able I'll have pictures posted of me in this new beauty. It is an absolute testament to Rocky's skill and his dedication to perfection. I'm overjoyed with the quality.

I wish! Give me another 30 years and I might catch up to where Hamish now. Seriously, I would love to have the variety of kilts that Hamish has in his kollection, but I doubt that Nopadon will let me. He's already grumbling now that I have 11 and one more on the way.

Finally got my pic taken in the new Blue MacKay.

Here it is, with me resting against my living room mantle and my little Chloe filling in the foreground.

Of course, there's the everpresent pipe in my hand, and the oh so necessary cane.

At Rocky's suggestion I had the Blue MacKay pleated to the stripe. It's my first kilt pleated that way and I rather like it for this tartan. You can get a hint of the pleating from the side view but I'll have another better pic taken later to really show the back.
