movin to AZ. just in time for St. Pats.
well I am moving(back) to Tucson after 2 years in Denver....the reason? well I want to go to school, and be closer to family. what can I say... my wife, daughter and I need to be closer to family... that and school is cheaper there than here....not to say I dont like Co. but I wont get far here...its nearly impossible to get on a Fire Department, and I cant go to school due to child care issues (read too expensive) so on march 15th we take off for Tucson!
on of the reasons I am letting all of you know is I dont know if there are any Xmarkers in tucson ...if there are then drop me a line! cause Fri. march 17th I am celebrating coming home....oh yeah its some saints day too ......cant remember right now
any how ...I had a tradition in Tucson that I would start from one side of town and work my way west playing my pipes for tips and anyone that wants to tag along is more than welcome to join! usually everyone thats "with the piper  " gets free drinks from the bar! Kilts are a MUST and.... as long as you dont mind hearing the same 4 or five tunes all night then it will be a good time!!!
I usually clear about $100 at the cowpony ( i know the owner ....it pays to have connections ) and he usually gives me a couple of shots, and Guinness pints as well!
let me know if you want to tag along! I will probably be going out Sat. night too ( heck more $$ and Beer
Irish diplomacy: is telling a man to go to he)) in such a way that he looks forward to the trip!

I am afraid to think of what those 4 or 5 songs will sound like by the end of the night...

Hey, that really sounds like fun! Wish I could tag along. Maybe I'll have to suggest that to the piper that I know.

Maybe by the end of the night, people are paying him to move along a little faster.
Good luck with your move and with school!

actually they sound about the same .....I dont drink more than a few pints that night so I dont sound like shyte! most of the free drinks i get go to those with me ... my groupies if you will
the reason for only 4 or 5 tunes is ....easier to remember, and everyone knows them so it makes for a quick 10 min set, and Im off to the next pub
its actually alot of fun ...especially those who are tagging along.....I usually get ALOT of free drinks!!
also another bit of news today .....come halloween Im gonna be a daddy again!!!!
what do you call couples who use the "pull " method? ......parents

What's your route? Do you have a specific street you follow -- it's been years since I've been to Tucson, but I always liked it, especially up around Tanque Verde & Sabino Canyon.
Be sure to mention that Tucson was founded by an Irishman -- Don Hugo O'Connor (Oconor) of the Spanish Army!

Sorry to see you leave the area but understand. Too bad we couldn't meet up for a kilt night. Enjoy your time in AZ

Maybe down on 4th Avenue eh?
Welcome back. There was a guy on this board from Tucson...think his handle had something to do with a lion.
I'm 400 miles north of you, Maybe you'll be ready to cool off at the Flagstaff games later this year...or Prescott games....or Camp Verde games...

I don't live in Tucson, but I'm just a couple hours up I-10 in Phoenix. I'd love to join you for St. Patty's day - sounds like great fun - but I'll be DJing a wedding reception that night. If you're ever up Phoenix way, contact me, & I'll be sure to let you know if I ever head down to the Old Pueblo.
