    "Crazy" Things

    Hell-o all,

Just wanted to ask a question of all of you. With all the comments that we have received from people saying we are crazy for wearing a Kilt in such activities as hiking, snowshoeing, skiing (water and snow), bike riding, etc.

What is in your opinion the thing that someone said to you that you were down right "crazy" for wearing a Kilt?

I have had many, but my favorite and probably the tamest was I was standing to close to the edge of a glass elevator.

Ladders, yes, I got one complaint from a lady while I was up a ladder.
My crazy comments usually come when kilted in the snow.

The only time I got a "you must be crazy" comment was when I wore my kilt in -30C temps.

Yup, same here. Wearing a kilt in snowy or cold weather seems to qualify us for the looney bin, in the opinion of most non-kilted people.

People think I'm crazy anyway, so me wearing Cilts comes across as normal.

Well, I've done all sorts of crazy things, and I've just happened to have been wearing a kilt for some of them.

I swang on a rope swing into a pond...in front of a bunch of kids...and my kilt few up. They all cheered. There's no photo of it - my friend took video instead. Here I am about to jump, with my friend in the air before me.

Otherwise, I've been swimming, snowshoeing, cliff diving, and of course long-distance hiking in a kilt.

    Andrew.
