But if you did, would every one of them be a $600 kilt? I have some very nice, expensive clothes, compared to the every day stuff, but I wouldn't wear them casually.

My point being, there is a place for the cheap stuff.

    ...But back to the hose...

Yes they are awesome, and I wouldn't mind having a pair for formal dress, but then, I don't have any of the other stuff for a Traditional formal outfit either.

Seriously though, those prices seem right in line with what I've been paying for my wool kilt hose. So count me in for some too.

What are the chances that these will fit those of us with "giant calves" ?
I know there are more than just me with big legs that need quality hose. I'm talking 19-20 inch calves. (too many years playing football)
    Thanks ,
    John

I too have large calves (20") and have found that most kilt hose will fit over the calves. However, the stretching has the effect of shortening the tops of the hose making a proper turnover next to impossible. Since these are longer than the normal hose, it should solve that problem.

I will get one pair to begin with as a test.

I have found that the only kilt hose that really fit right are the ones I had custom knitted, and of course those are a bit pricey.

    Thumbs up

The price seems reasonable for the effort put into them. At $50us that is around $68au. I just paid $59.50au for a commercialy made imported pair here in Sydney. From what i can see in the pics, and i do like the thickness, i would consider a pair or two.

As a courtesy to Steve (ESPECIALLY since this topic is in HIS forum) and to keep the topic on track, let's keep the feedback to HIS hose.

Steve, I may ask you to include a pair with the knome you send me (if it hasn't gone out yet). Dark green size US11?

Oops, didn't mean to pull away from his hose (I think they are a great value for the type they are btw). I will be posting my review in the forum I started a while back. I was trying to comment more on this "Style" of sock making. I honestly don't know how he is selling them at about the same cost as a commercial knit pair. I will most likely end up with a pair of these as well.

Sorry if I got carried away. I in no way meant to discredit his hose, I think they look very nice and the price makes them look even nicer
