SportKilts aren't THAT bad, IF you go for the sewn down pleats and custom length.

Please keep us up to date on your search. A kilt in MacGregor tartan is a dream of mine. I keep running into little roadblocks. Truck dies, kids need shoes, food needs bought.....

The Economy kilt at Celtic Croft seems to be what I'm looking for.
Can anyone tell me about the homespun wool they use for them? Also, they say that they're not tailor made but then ask for your waist, hips, and length. Since this kilt falls under the special order category, do they make it to your measurements?
I got one in Black Watch for my first kilt. As Bubba said, it's more coarse that regular kilting cloth, but still nice, and definitely a good price. They're not tailor made, but they want your measurements so they can get a reasonable fit.
