You did not say when the wedding is. So depending on the time line, kilts are not made overnight. So depending on the tartan and where it is coming from give yourself some time. I understand that it is now starting to get very busy for some kiltmakers, because it is the start of the Highland Game Season and orders start to file in rapidly. Also with Tartan Week in NYC in April, it might be even busier than normal.

But as you have already heard here, its a disease. You wear it once and you will want more than one kilt.

Thanks for the advice so far. The wedding is not until September but I decided that getting this resolved sooner rather than later was wise.

I must say that the Irish american kilt here http://scottishkilts.net/products/5_...wool_kilt.html looks like a good bargain. Since the family reunion is the Wilson Dugan reunion I suspect no one would disagree with me picking that colour.

Ya know...my ancesteral roots run back through your part of the world and I gotta tell you, I don't know how a person can be French Canadian and not have a couple drops of Scottish blood.

The manly men of New Scotland were known to have an attraction to the beautiful French Canadian ladies of olden days.

You also need to be aware that there are bunches of "Wilson" tartans because a man named Wilson cataloged them, & since they were otherwise unnamed, they were labelled Wilson and a number added.

It will be easier just to go with a Gunn tartan (Wilson is a sept of Gunn).
