Thank you very much for the link. Hamish has a very eloquent speaking voice, and If I remember correctly, he has given talks infront of various groups.

Certainly, his collection of kilts is quite remarkable. More importantly, his advice, and his excellent albumn is a great source of information on how to look good in a kilt, whether it be a traditional or contemporary, dressing up or dressing down. It's a great reference for ideas, whether you own one kilt or thirty kilts.

    Hamish,

Have you ever considered reading for books-on-tape or performing in a radio drama? As an avid collector of Old Time Radio and listener (via the web) of the BBC Radio Dramas, you have the perfect voice!

Does anyone else find it odd that this whole thread is about hamish but he hasn't posted in it at all?

No. I imagine he's probably blushing a lot though.

I have a feeling it takes a bit more than this to make Hamish blush...

He is just waiting to make a fashionably late entrance
    ITS A KILT, G** D*** IT!

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeek! What can I say? You are far too generous. That VideoNation piece did not turn out the way I had planned it, and frankly I was disgusted with it. The BBC should have delivered the camera and left it with me for a few days but, when it came to it, they could not leave it with me. The Producer of the series brought the camera to my home and then proceeded to 'direct' me - where I stood, what I wore, everything. She operated the camera and there was not time for any retakes - I did not even see the 'rushes' before it was used. They did send me a video tape of it, once it was put on the BBC website, however. Big deal!! No, all-in-all, I was very disappointed with the finished piece.

I truly appreciate your compliments, fellas, and yes, I have done odds and ends of radio work over the years - I worked for the BBC in London back in the 1960s. I've also done quite of a lot of acting and made one TV commercial about 25 years ago. That is why I was so dissatisfied with the VideoNation thing! I'd love a chance to re-do it, but that's not likely.

As for what I wore to the theatre that evening: as far as I remember, I teamed the TFCK imitation leather kilt (yes, that one is actually black PVC!) with my grey tweed Argyll jacket and would have looked something like this:

My apologies for not reacting to this thread sooner, but the ol' computer is not well (nor am I particularly well at the moment, but I'd rather not talk about that), and so I'm logging on only every few days for the time being.
