Now that I have my screen wiped off after reading Phil's post (I still can't get the vision out of my head ), I have to confess that I like cream hose as well. I also like black hose and white hose. However oatmeal colored is my favorite.
Alan, if it's any consolation, I lost a job at age 52, when my job and the high volume production of the company I worked for was sent to a new plant south of the US boarder. I landed on my feet, working for a much better company at a much better salary. I remained there until I became disabled.
Things have a way of working out, and this cloud may have a silver lining.

1) The image that Phil provided was a spit teh screen moment for me...
2) Cream colored kilt socks....hey works for me...even after labor day....then again is cream really considered white???
3) Sorry about the job...I know that feeling as well as part of my job when I was a consultant for a telecom firm was to basically reduce the staff to thepoint where my job would be useless....and I did it....

I can feature that
I myself don't own any proper kilt hose.
I've been off three weeks starting with weather-related slowdown, a crew size reduction (three good hands and several others - myself included) got the axe, and two weeks ago my car was totalled by a hit& run driver resulting in a fractured thumb giving me waaay too much time to sit here at the magic box.
Tough times don't last, tough people do.
