Kilted while shopping

I rarely get comments at the stores I usually shop at. However one tim I heard over the PA system "John we need a Kilt on checkstand 3" I was walking by checkstand 3 at the time. Great laugh for everyone.

I'm with ya on that Argonian. Cripes, maybe we all should have been born in Victorian or Edwardian times. For that matter, anywhere up until the '60s. I'm sick and tired of people actually thinking they are "kewl" dressed like frickin' pigs. And, usually, smelling just as bad. Where goeth their pride??? :confused:

I whole heartedly agree. Even if I'm going to be at home all day working on the computer I still get dressed, put on a nice kilt, dress shirt and a tie. The only person I'll be seeing until Nopadon gets home is the dog, but I still take pride in my appearance.

And while men are notoriously poor dressers, I'm noticing that the culprits are now just as likely to be females.

The wife of a friend of ours threw him a surprise birthday party last year. It was a combination birthday & Christmas party and on the invitations we were asked to dress well (coat but tie optional). All of the guests looked wonderful. But when we arrived the hostess was wearing green pajama pants, a nasty old red t-shirt, and fuzzy pink flip-flops. I assumed that she had been too busy to dress before guests started to arrive and that she would chance at the first available opportunity. But no, that was her outfit for the evening. And while his female friends all came dressed for a fine evening out, all of her friends looked like they were ready for a campus slumber-party. It was positively disgraceful. Of course, she's also the woman who switched from heels to another set of plastic flip-flops partway through her wedding ceremony. She couldn't even wait for the reception. And her dress wasn't long enough to hide her choice of footwear.

No one takes pride in their appearance anymore. I'm about to take the dog out for a walk (okay, she'll be walking and I'll be in my wheelchair) and I'm wearing my daywear tweed jacket and a tie!
