I saw some Canadian forces in Afganistan wearing MARPAT desert. If your piper would not mind that, I would be willing to support any troop 'in harms way' in any small way I can.

No worries on CADPAT. There are sources for the stuff, which aren't the gov version (no IR resistance). However, I may be able to aquire some but if the cloth, it would be too light, if the cordura, might be too heavy. If not, you do a nice OD or tan. Tan poly/cotton would be great.

And, they aren't "my" pipers. At least, not anymore. They belong to each and every Canuck. (smiley saluting, if I had one).

Let me make a couple of calls tomorrow and see what I can do and who I can talk to. I doubt I'd be able to get exact measurements, but something very close would be great. I'll PM you once I have the gen.

Steve, just did a thorough poke through of your site. The ACU would be outstanding. Its a newer US cam, but damned close to CADPAT arid.

I don't think any of the boys would mind any different pattern cam. When you're up to your scrote in crap, a little air would be nice.

Thats all the boys (and girls, unfortunately) want. Politics? Screw it! As long as the folks at home understand that mil folks do what citizens tell them to do, all is copasetic. I might be a retired old fart, and my politics may be different from what the gawds in our respective capitals say, but when it comes to those who serve: PER ARDUA AD ASTRA.

When one of our folks dies doing their duty, and the piper plays, a kilt would make it all the more bearable to those left to continue.

And I got me one of Steve's CADPAT kilts. Now I'm working on sliming down my belly to where it was back then.

What still amazes me about the CADPAT is that looking at it I imagined it was perfect for the Canadian forests.

Yet, down here, some way, some how, the CADPAT pattern is also the perfect camo for the scrub sage of the canyonlands of Arizona.
