Welcome to the board. You will have fun here. Maybe your next kilt should be the US Navy tartan?

Hey Sailor
Welcome aboard! I used to be stationed in Hawaii, Pearl Harbor, and of course was in the Navy! Is there really a Navy tartan? US Navy?
Any way, post when you can!

Sounds like you have to look into the Polaris Tartan story...
Welcome to the kilted twilight zone...

The freedom rocks. Now I know what Mel Gibson was REALLY referring to at the end of Braveheart!

Hawaii does have SOME advantages. Though, being from Indianapolis... I think I'd STILL go kilted in a real winter.

Indeed a labor of love. As in I love the look on my wifes face when I wear a kilt. ;) The looks from others are entertaining as well.

I'm actually contemplating getting what you see here: http://www.alexismalcolmkilts.bigste...generic24.html
I'd like to have that done in the Navy tartan. I also want to get a "Dolphins" kilt pin: http://www.alexismalcolmkilts.bigste...ersKiltPin.JPG
(I want mine in silver, though, as opposed to gold)

I'll trade you places. Frankly, after having spent 5 years here, I've had enough. Actually... I had had enough after one year.
This just isn't the place for a corn fed Hoosier boy! lol

Likely not... One guy even gave me a weird look when I mentioned I was a budding Rennie.

Welcome to XMarks from the Mts. of Utah.
I got stuck in Honolulu for 4 days (long story) trying to get back to the states on stand-by. It was better than being stuck in Lybia guarding airplanes with a flash light and a whistle??? for 3 nights.

Welcome from another squid. I am currently in the Navy reserves. I spent six years active duty as a nuclear components welder. I repaired subs.

Welcome to XMarks. I was a Navy Hospital Corpsman during the Vietnam War. Sounds like great duty being stationed in Hawaii.

Where D'ya Git Avatars??????
Okay, now that I have someone's attention...
I'd like to add an Avatar to my signature. Particularly one of my Clan Badge (MacNicol), but where do I find that? Obviously, a bunch of us already have. But, where do I go for this??
Thanks,
Nothing is worn under the kilt...everything works just fine!!

Hey! Welcome, kama'aina! I am jealous that I didn't know of kilts when I lived in Kailua windward of you long ago. Used to take the bus over the Pali downtown to work, until I got a job locally. I'm sure it's a whole different place now.
