Oh yeah, some threat! Happy St. Paddy's Day!

Be careful out there, it is amateur night!
That's why many of us pros are staying home!

I guess this means I pull out the Irish whiskey tonight.

There are more Irishmen than Scots in my tree, though I've got a Scottish name. I've always used my mixed Celtic heritage as an excuse to celebrate both countries' best attributes.

    Hi all,

Happy St. Patrick's Day to you all.

Interesting to see how the Irish-American tradition of celebrating St. Patrick's Day has made its way round the world, now even to the "Old Country".

    Happy St. Patrick's Day All!

I took my son to kindergarten today in my Black Watch Kilt (and Fly Plaid). His teacher asked if I would stay for the start of class and talk about the way I was dressed. I talked about how the Scots, Irish, and Welsh all shared the tradition of wearing kilts and how they were absolutely masculine garb. I talked about the original great kilts, the story of the origin of the kilt pin, flashes, hose, and the sgian dubh. The boys in the class were disappointed I was carrying my "Sgian Don't" (A comb with a knife-like wooden handle I made) instead of a real blade. But the kids seemed interested. I got a lot of smiles and questions as I went out and about town today doing errands with my daughter.

I raise my glass to all you fine folk and wish you a hardy "Cheers"!

A big cheers to you as well. Also that's awesome that you were able to talk to children about cilts and what they represent, that's awesome, not all people can talk to kids and I congratulate you for that. Cheers

Well done!! That's probably the best "pro-kilt" story I've read on Xmarks! I wonder how many young boys went running home after school asking their parents if they could have a kilt.

And to everyone else, a belated Happy St. Patrick's Day!! Work got in the way of celebrating for me yesterday so I'll have to try to make up for it on Monday. LOL

You all need to type louder today (probably tomorrow too) I was onstage with the Young Dubs in Hollyweird last night in a proper black shirt with dark blue 'neath that.
I don't think the House of (anything but) Blues ever had air conditioning ...

CT - hey, that was fun. Let's do it again ...

Hey CT, I thought you were a Heavy Equipment Operator, but you've made several references to musical performances; what kind of equipment do you operate, Heavy Metal Guitar?

Sherri and I worked yesterday, so we celebrated at her parents' house with a traditional meal of corned beef and cabbage with beets and potatos. Mackeson Triple Stout washed it all down.

We also had Creme de Menthe pie for dessert.

She took this photo of me before we left:

It was a great day. I hope yours was too!
