I also highly recommend USA Kilts. Their semi-traditional kilt is a full 8-yard kilt made of 11 ounce poly viscose. It comes in numerous tartans and is made to your measurements. Workmanship is first rate as is customer service:

Thank you, gentleman, for all the help.... I opted for the Blackwatch semi-traditional kilt from USAK (also picked up a "Rob Roy" sporran). Again, thank you for the wisdom bestowed.

Two good choices. A poly viscose kilt is going to be a lot more comfortable (cooler) in Hawii than wool. PV is machine washable. Don't dry clean your pv kilt or use fabric softner as both will remove the telfon coating from the pv.

The Rob Roy sporran (by Buzz Kidder) comes with a chain sporran belt. We always recommend replacing a chain sporran belt with an all-leather sporran belt for every day use because chain will damage your kilt over time. Save the chain for evening and formal wear. Stillwater Kilts sells all-leather sporran belts.
