I can't believe no one has suggested "net flix". This has been one of the best shows T.V. has had in a very long time I almost joined PBS. Almost.I can't believe the show survived without lexie. Don't bloody tell me any more.

    ** Some Spoiling involved**

Well, series 7 has just finished airing on BBC Canada. I had high hopes for the final series of a good show, but I was sadly disappointed. The stories in the series were weak, rushed, and seemed like some cut scenes needed to be put back in, as things really jumped around with no explaination or resolution.

The final episode was saved, thankfully, not but the estate's rescue (didn't Archie already go throught this and get the place back on it's feet?), nor by the lovbe connections at the end. The show was saved by bringing back the best charactor from that series. The return of Hector Nasmith MacDonald brought humor, and entertainment back to a show that has been "jumping the shark" time and time again since he left. For a few fleeting moments I was reminded of the laughs and entertainment of the first 3 seasons.

Now Monarch is gone, and given the caliber of the writing in the last 2 years, I wish I could say I will miss it. Even Duncan and kilwhillie's returns this season couldn't save it. Some mention about Archie and Lexie (the main charactors for years) would have been nice to acknowledge.

Alas, I now have the entire show (all 7 seasons) recorded or on DVD, so I can pick and choose.

We had been watching on BBC America but they stopped at the end of season 6. I agree with your sentiments about Hector. My wife and I have missed his character on the later seasons. Even though the writing seems to jump around a bit, I hope to get to see the last season, eventually.

I just checked BBC America, and it looks like they are airing MOTG everyday. They are at series 5 right now. When I taped series 6, BBC Canada was doing the same thing and just continued on with the newest season. It may be worth an email, that's the only reason I found out when the Hogmanay and series 7 were airing.

We were recording the series and BBC America got to season 6 and then jumped back to the season that they killed Hector off. Perhaps when they reach the end of season 6 again they'll keep going with 7.

I sent off an email to BBC America asking about season 7 as you suggested. Thanks Colin.

I got an answer back from BBC America. They tell me that they have no plans at this time to show the 7th season of Monarch. This will not make my wife happy.

Hoping that the PBS station...the MINOR one that's attached to the City Colleges here in Chicago - not WTTW, the "big" one...will go through and run season seven after they get through the rest of the continuity.

Last Saturday found Paul falling in the water, Archie hauling him out, having his catharsis and then leaving with Lexie on the belated honeymoon...

...oh, God....how does a grown man get hooked on stuff like this!
