Basically for now I just want something cheap. But I'm not going to buy a piece of junk either. I guess I'm looking for around $30-40...but we'll see. Personally, I'd spend more...but...

I would suggest checking out the ones at www.scottishkilts.net than. You can find a few good ones in the $40ish range. I know I will get slack for this.....Buzz Kidder sporrans seem to get a lot of good feedback, but the since seeing one in person, I have to say i wasn't impressed. That's just me though. I find the shape a bit odd.

The Buzz Kidders are very utilitarian but the leather is thick, you wont get the drumming quite as much as with the more rigid leather sporrans and they will see you thru many different out fits. I love both of mine. It would be nice if there was a satin insert for the BK's though.

Here is a shot of my black BK. I have the same one in brown which is actually my favorite right now.

What would look good with this tartan? A brown one or black one?

    Wink

For a dress one, go to bestofscotlandshop.com, it's e-bay, but they worked fastly, the product was good and the price was excellent,... they have a 100% of good reportings.

For a daywear use,... I'd go for a Freelander sporran,... it's also on my wishlist!

    ¡Salud!

Buchannan looks good with both in my opinion but I think brown would compliment it very well, especially if you have a brown belt and shoes to combine with it. You will get the best over all appearance if you match all of your leather to the same color.

One other note about sporrans...They usually come with chain belts. These look nice for dress occasions but may not look quite right for casual wear and they will increase the wear and tear on the kilt fabric. You would do well to find an old, narrow leather belt (1/2" to 1") to use instead.

Also, the Price on USA's web site includes freight. So sporrans from them are $50 delivered. The other option, which is the way I got my Brown BK is to watch Stillwaters auction site. I picked it up for $40 or $45 plus $8 shipping. Great deal!!!

Well, I have both brown and black boots...but I guess I'm more of a brown leather man. Do you mean get a small leather belt to hold up the sporran?
