Okay, the site is bookmarked.
Hmm - a CCK in green canvas - no, no, no! I've already got the XMarks kilt, family tartan design, and kilt in that tartan underway! No more kilts right now! But maybe later ...
Now to finally get some pics of me wearing my Robertson CCK for you.
I'm got the digital camera, and I'm wearing the kilt ... I just have to find where my photographer wandered off to ...

SHAME ON YOU!!!
Tempting us like that, how dare you. Good site, but I agree with the others on improving it, to help tempt me more.

Like the site, but I too found the pictures very slow to load. Maybe a bit more compression?

Peter,
Nice looking site. I like the slideshow concept. I didn't mess around with it, but I saw that you could alter the timing of the slides. Once loaded, it seemed to be quick enough. I like the tartan list too. I've mixed feelings about examples of the tartans, since many othr sites have the samples too, but it might be convenient. I really like the handsome gent on your products page.
Great start

Good Start! Now take a deep breath - these are just MY opinions I don't claim to be an expert... but I do play one on TV
1. Overall the site feels very "template" driven - is there a way to personalize it more to your company?
2. Bigger type, fewer words, and more high quality photos - especially on the front page - this feels more like a blog than a business site.
3. Photos - avoid the "hey here I am in my kitchen" photos - think location, location, location. Can you think of a cool place for someone to be kilted? You want your customers to "see" themselves in one of your kilts having an amazing experience.
4. Time to consider a real logo - it may even be worth it to you to hold a "kilt contest" to end up with a memorable logo.
5. The tartan list should be associated with photo samples - as a consumer its a real pain to have to go off site to see what a tartan looks like. Who knows, you may never get them back...
6. A wise man once said "customers don't buy quarter inch drill bits - they buy quarter inch holes..." You DO need to assure your customers that you have the skills to make a great looking kilt... BUT... think about THEIR needs - how is it your product or service satisfies one of their needs?
7. Think about "nitch" marketing... what segment of the marketplace does your business fit into? Who are your potential customers? What is UNIQUE about the product or service you sell? Are you directly competing against USAK, SWK, Kiltstore, Handsewn kilts sewn by the masters like Barb T? Position in the marketplace is important.
Ok I just re-read what I wrote and it would be easy to interpret all this as being very negative. That is NOT my intent - honest. Remember, I'm NO expert, but I sure would like to see another great choice for well made kilts.
GOOD LUCK!
