Well I am not a fan of the trews, I am not sure they screwed it up. The highland attire looks pretty dead on to me, even if I wouldn't wear some of it.

Careful, now...not only are there quite a few "Monarch of the Glen" fans here, some of us also happen to like trews! :mrgreen:

I second Colin's message. Overall, the Highland attire in this particular photo of the Monarch cast looks pretty good.

Excuse me! I guess I'm too new at this to have come to the realization that a tartan pair of trousers ("trews") can be for real. I apologize for my comments--although he would look a lot better in a kilt, like his dad. (I too like Monarch of the Glen, but missed this episode.)

Hector usually wears trews to dinner with his Prince Charlie. Many officers in Scottish regiments wear trews as part of "mess dress", and the Lowland Regiments (KOSBs, Royal Scots, Royal Highland Fusiliers) all wear trews.

Originally, trews were tight-fitting and worn by the Scottish gentry as riding trousers.

Ah yes - now aren't those boring things trousers?

I always thought that the trews were cut on the bias and were fairly close fitting, whilst those are just straight cut trousers.

Hectors green flashes look a bit odd with the argyled socks, don't they?
