    1st tank just arrived!!!

    WOO-HOO!!! IT'S HERE - IT'S HERE!!! WOO-HOO!!!

Celebrate with me, my brothers (& sisters)!

Strike up the fatted calf - kill the band, no, wait, I've got that wrong... anyway...

While I've been wearing a variety of UtiliKilts for the last 3 years, to celebrate half-a-century of living, I ordered my first honest-to-God, full-blown traditional kilt last month (Feb 4th, to be exact) & in less time than expected (just under 7 weeks), it arrived yesterday from Scotland. I just picked it up a couple of hours ago & it's a beauty - 13 oz. Strathmore in Robertson Hunting tartan (my clan). I ordered it through Arizona Kilts, whose owner, Graeme Niven, was immensely helpful & informative.

I didn't stop with just the kilt, though - you might say I went the whole nine yards, getting the matching plaid & flash, Prince Charlie vest & jacket, lined kilt belt & buckle, clan brooch, clan kilt pin, clan cufflinks, ghillie brogues, piper hose & frontier jacket! I already had the dress sporran, sgian dhu, jacobite shirts, plus tuxedo shirt & bowtie. The clan kilt pin got lost in transit, but the replacement should arrive any day now & I'll be ordering a new day sporran, soon.

I love my UtiliKilts, but a well-made traditional kilt is indeed a thing of beauty!

Pictures will be forth-coming... (sorry, I'm one of those few people still without a digital camera)

Congratulations on your first trad kilt. Now you need another one to keep it company when it's not being worn.

An excellent suggestion! (As if you really needed to twist my arm )

Thanks to some previous posts (& video), I think I'm going to have me a talk with Matthew Newsome about that in the very near future...

Is that the kilt store in Scottsdale, Red? I wish it would have been open when I was in the Valley many years ago!

    Congratulations on your first traditional!

    Cheers,

Tonight I'll have a wee dram for you. And then when you get your next one I'll have a wee dram and I'll have some for the others who have received new kilts and then . . . . . this could lead to something serious
