I would think that unless you're being closely followed up the stairs by a midget it shouldn't be a problem. Now, if they were glass stairs...

Thanks never thought about that until now. Now I'll think about every time I am walking up a flight of stairs or should that be a flight of stares

If it's an enclosed stairwell, I don't worry about it. If it's open on one side of the staircase, I walk on the wall side. There's a staircase at the public library that is completely open, and the risers are perforrated. I take the elevator.

My son's first kilted outing was several weeks ago at the Black Watch concert. Our seats were on the second level, up a long flight of stairs. At the bottom of the stairs a bar was set up and lots of folks standing around waiting for drinks. He got to the foot of the stairs and stopped. I asked what was the matter and he just muttered "stairs...why'd there have to be stairs?" He's about 6'3" and all legs, so a flash was a genuine possibility. He asked if I would walk behind him. I reminded him that he had on boxers (15-year-old-shyness) and I was quite regimental. He wasn't moved by this, so up we went. About half way up there was the sound of a drink hitting the floor and other general mayhem. I didn't look back to see what had happened, but he's convinced that I caused the rukus. We'll never know, but he's since spread the story pretty thickly among friends and family, much to my wife's dismay.

It will be very difficult for anyone to see anything beyond the mid to upper thigh, going up the stairs, or else women wouldn't climb stairs either! You probably don't want to decend to vigorously though!

In high school I used to have a hobby of admiring girl's underwear when they were going up the stairs - and they don't have body parts that hang down.

    Just some food for thought...

before worrying about flashing someone with your kilt, keep in mind that every day millions of women in skirts and other female non-bifurcated clothes walk up and down millions of stairs.

    I wouldn't worry about it.
