I would say that that truely answers "the question", once and for all.

Not sure where the piccy came from, but the gent on the right is definately Platoon Sergeant Major "Donnie" Munro of the Calgary Highlanders. The photo was taken on "Sporran Parade" in 1940 in Calgary, Alberta.

The Calgary Highlanders are an Allied Regiment of the Argylls, so hence the confusion. I knew I had seen this picture before on the Calgary's site, but couldn't find it again!
The web master, btw, is also the web master for www.canadiansoldiers.com.
The "sporran parade" reminds me of an inside joke we had in our old American Civil War reenacting unit. We were on occasion given the command to "fall in, traps only", "traps" being a 19th century term for a soldier's equipment -- waist belt, cartridge box & sling, etc. -- we were always tempted to literalry fall in with only our accoutrements, but never did!
Cheers,
Todd

I've held off enough long enough on this, it all looks very natural to me. Like Todd, I wonder how many others have thought of doing things like that?
