Special deals for guys in kilts... idea.
I occurred to me today one thing that could greatly improve the whole pub scene is if taverns would start offering 2-for-1 pints or $2 pints or maybe $1 pints, to those guys in kilts!
I saw a thread in the Kilt Night forum where some pub was doing that as a special on St. Pat's Day and I was also mulling this concept over as we are looking for a second venue to hold monthly kilt nights here is the SF Bay Area and I figured if we could find a good Irish Pub that would offer us a deal, it would be a real winner.
Anyhow, it is something I'll be brining up to the owners of our local pubs and it would be great if it were to become some sort of International standard policy.
Hell, if you don't have the balls to ask them to change their policy, you may as well act like you thought it was already the case... "Hey, I heard you guys offered 1/2 price pints for guys in kilts!" "Why else do you think I wore this?"

Unfortunately, in Massachusetts you're not allowed to discount beer randomly. You can always offer certain beers at certain (low) prices, but you can't sometimes do so - no "happy hours"!

I'm for anything that will reduce my bartab without reducing the quantity or quality of the beer that I choose to imbibe.

best way to reduce your beer tab is to drink scotch.

I always bring my own flask with at LEAST 18 year old scotch and that is how I reduce my scotch bill.

See, I wansn't talking about them doing it "randomly." I was talking about a specific offer to those that were contributing to the atmosphere!

Well, you could always say that someone who is kilted gets a free "gift" of money equivalent to half the cost of the beer, immediately after paying for his drink. Yes?

hmm...you need to start talking to the bar managers out here...that would go over great, although I think I am the only regularly kilted patron around.
