I wasn't aware of any politics, just comments about his attire and of course his aging. I do like the fact he speaks his mind, I don't always agree with him, but I do agree with speaking your mind.

Just a friendly reminder in case the thread would get heated. The fact that the piccie is from a political site leaves the door open for a political discussion.

I find it was an odd choice to have a kilted picture of Mr. Turner next to the negative article about him. It certainly didn't have any link to the column. I would hate to think that the writer or his photo editor thought that this was an embarrassing picture of him. Regardless of his politics I think its a rather smart outfit. So on a fashion level I say a hearty YOU GO FOR IT TED! Though with the tweed and wellington boots he really should have been photographed walking along a grassy knoll with a walking stick in his hand.

It's true, the uflattering nature of the pic and literal tone do seem to hang together behind the paint sheds and throw rocks at passers by, HOWEVER, any punts on the tartan? Near on impossible by the looks but some of you sharp folk may have an idea.

It appears to be a tweed kilt.

There's a better pic here from New York's Tartan Week:

Scroll down about halfway.
It seems to me that the author of the article used the unflattering kilt photo out of context to support his slamming of Ted Turner.
Whatever the politics are, it's shoddy journalism to include a photo without crediting the source and stating the context of the photo.

too right Rigged. And that seems a likely bet Todd, cheers.
No complaints about this one on same page though:

The most unflattering thing about that pic to me, is the way his jacket seems to be half-on and half-off. Looks almost like he just finished getting a lap-dance or something.
