Wow, that's a fine looking kilt. I really like the Isle of Skye tartan, and think I will add one to my collection one day to honor my visit there. Your kiltmaker has done a wonderful job.

There really is nothing like a traditional handsewn Scottish Kilt is there. You need to own one to actually understand that though, don't you. I thought I understood, but after I got my traditional, everything else paled in comparison.

    Congratulations.

Great looking kilt - by a very good "amateur" kiltmaker. What caused you to choose "pleated to the stripe" using the center of the background color block? It gives a very soothing, earthy tone to the pleats, without all the busy-ness of a centered overcheck. I can understand the kiltmaker's request for protection; he or she probably has a job or career that precludes fulltime kiltmaking - at least, for now, and has only enough time to practice the craft for true devotees. You must be very special.

Hi gang - guess all you want, I'll never tell... I've givien my word - and no its not Barb T... I'm sure the kiltmaker would be flattered to be put in that league. W2F has it right, this kiltmaker has plenty on their plate.

The kiltmaker and I decided to pleat to that stripe to "quiet" the color field a bit and add some "pop"when the pleats kick open.

Colin - I couldn't say it any better... you really do need to strap one of these tanks on to understand what they are all about and tank is exactly the right word...

My USAK fits just as well, but there's something about wool that just can't be duplicated...

Wow! I'm blown away, and jealous as hell. I really like that tartan and especially like the pleating choice. We need to see some walking pics so we can see what it looks like in motion. Too cool!
