I do! I was finally able to order my hand-made kilt from Scotland. I used TARTAN KILTS and am absolutely pleased with the time it took and the quality. They even make their own new wool tartan material in-house, in which I bought the SHAW ANCIENT in the (16-17oz.) heavy weight tartan.

I have a hand-sewn kilt that I had made when I was last in Braemar. It fits like a glove and is such a joy to wear. When I was measured in Scotland it was much more thorough than just the three measurements. Since I'm wide and short the normal manner of making splits doesn't work the best for me. I compared the measurements and the feel, and started making my own kilts. I have some casual kilts as well, but now they are to my measurements and feel good to wear.

Hello All!

While I don't have one of those monster 8 or nine yard kilts I am the proud owner of a four yarder in the Black Stewart Tartan "Highlander" by Lochcarron that Kilt is an absolute joy to wear. There is NO comparision to anything else I own for movement or looks and I do own at least one really nice one in addition albeit a deniem. That said while I'd love to have a "Tank" I simply do not have the $500.00 or so for one,in fact anything past $150.00 is unfortunatly too much. But I can dream oh can I dream! zzzzzzzzzz

I too have a Black Stewart 4 yarder from Lochcarron ( Stewart happens to be my clan connection) I also have a magnificent "Tank" given to me by my Bride of 32 years (are you guys tired of hearing that yet?) made by the House of Edgar in the MacNeill of Bara Tartan (Wifes' clan) both are unbelivably well made and an absolute joy to wear. My only complaint is that the Black Stewart temporaily shrank in the closet and I cannot wear it at the moment.

6 yard casual kilt in Mackenzie (man made fibres - pleated to stripe)
I prefer the heavyweight kilts as you really know you're wearing a kilt with these, however the medium weight one is great for indoors and is a really nice smooth dress cloth that actually swings better than the others.
The casual one is just for wearing around the house in the hot weather.
