    My mother-in-law likes this one the best I think. My father-in-law likes the Ireland's National from USAK.

    Michael, I don't own an 8 yard kilt so I can't really say. It does swing well and is a very nice heavy fabric. Perhaps not a tank but close enough to feel like a personal body shield.

    Oz, Matt pretty much said it all about this tartan. South Carolina is my home state AND I'm a Stewart so I thought it very approprate that my first custom tailored, hand sewn kilt should be a traditional in the official district tartan (based on a Stewart tartan) made by a kiltmaker in the Carolinas.

    Just an aside Dee, alot of folks may be curious about your signature (new threads). It took a little to find it but it's a good one.sky's the limit and all...
