The ROM...the Royal Ontario Museum. One of those "Days of Empire" International Houses of Colonial Booty...just a really nice museum, seriously...my kids loved it and even now at seventeen and fourteen long to go back and visit it.

Also...but more for adults...the Art Museum...is it the AGO...Art Gallery of Ontario...you never knew that they had artist in Canada, did you? Well they do and they kick ***. Look for work by the Group of Seven and lots of historical subjects from the nineteenth and early twentieth century...Fantastic.

You can also get to Canada's Wonderland by public transportation if you're game. "Six Flags Over Torontoland"...we did it and it was pretty damn neat.

Don't skip Chinatown. We just go and shop and eat all over Toronto...if you get into the Underground you may find that you never have to get out...everything that you need is in the underground concourses. Don't know what they've done with Eaton Place since the Eaton's stores closed but it's a really impressive shopping center....has a subway stop at one end and another stop at the other end...did I mention that it's BIG?

Take he ferry out to the islands in the lake...a small amusement park and beautiful parks...you get to look back at the CN Tower....which you MUST do the touristy thing and visit...it if great.

The theatre scene is great too...I think they're currently running the Lord of the Rings musical (Yeah...I can't believe it either) in Toronto and I just look ed to see if Wicked was therre again but it's not...anyway, it is, as they say, world class.

Did I mention that I really like Toronto?

Oh, if you do the CN Tower thing, you might want to consider eating there. They have a rotating restauant up there, and the food is dang good. I seem to remember having salmon in a raspberry sauce...

I'll second what the others have said. Of all the suggestions made I'd have to say that the CN tower will be the most memorable. The food is good, the view is spectacular, and the trip up and down is fun! A must see in my books!

Thanks for the ideas. I am really looking forward to this trip first one in about a year and first time to Canada since the Montreal Expo in '68. The kids are totally stoked and I want to make sure they will be occupied. Thanks again. Cheers

I would suggest the science centre, its fantastic (for big kids at heart). Fort York is also great!

If driving I suggest if you have passports for your family, bring them. If you don't have any. Bring your birth certificates with you. Its not a problem getting into Canada, just a problem coming into the states. oh another thing if pulling up to the border, remove your sunglasses and turn the radio or music off!!! also address them as yes sir or mam. It makes it much easier. The Canadian Officals are much nicer and polite.

I frequently travel over the border from NY and only had problems once, because i came back at 5:00 in the morning and it was a very young guy who looked like he just started to shave. After keeping me for 8 minutes he let me come back. Mind you I was the only car on the bridge.
