Thank you. I just picked up a Montrose doublet on eBay and rather lucked out as it fits perfectly. I agree that the frills are part of the whole thing. Anyway, this is a very formal jacket: Weddings, visits from the Queen, and so on. You can go with other less frilly choices for other occasions, such as the Argyll and Prince Charlie Coat. On the other hand, I am curious to see the ladies swoon seeing me in frills. Maybe I will get more of the "What's worn" comments. "Nothing, ma'am, it's in perfect working order." Slainte!
