Why have I never heard of these books? Would they be ok for a 5 year old, I think my son would love them.

    A. OHMIGOD (as my daughter would say) I saw "Darby" at the drive-in too! And yes...the banshee scared the entire carload of kids!

    B. Terry Pratchett...The two books that we have are "The Wee Free Men" and "A Hatfull of Sky"...both deal with the Wee MacFeegles...my daughter (14 years old) devoured them both. I understand that the Feegles make an appearance in "Carpe Jugulum" and "Maurice and His Amazing Rodents" as well. The third "MacFeegles" book, "Wintersmith", will be out in the fall...Amazon.com is already taking advance orders (sheeesh! Bloody capitalists!). Haven't had a chance to read the MacFeegles books yet but I did recntly read "Reaper Man", which was truly funny and left me with a bit of a lump in my throat when I was finished (life, death, mortality...). What can I say about an author who not only features Death as the Grim Reaper but has him buddy up with The Death of Rats - The Grim Squeaker?

The best visual representation of the MacFeegles is to be found at the current "Discworld" artist, Paul Kidby's website:

Daughter doesn't know it but she's getting a Feegles t-shirt for graduation...I'd love to get a set of the figures but oy-vey...the cost.
