Mine was a '62 e-type Jag. Convertable of course. With original hard top. And to top it off I was single, in the military, with cash in my pocket, and living in Hawaii.
It just don't get any better.

Probably showing my age here (or lack there of?) but my best/favorite vehicle was a 67 Chevy Impala convertible. Body was rough, replaced the top and had to renovate the hydraulics to get the top to work, but boy was it sweet! 17 years old when I bought it, but the motor was still strong. Can't beat an old Chevy small block. Wishi I still had it.
My second favorite was my 70 Impala. Re-built the engine in that baby and used it for trailering our boat for years before trading it in on a newer vehicle. Still regret that decision.
Rob... still wishing I had either of them...

Rob,
I had a 66 SS 396 Cherry Red and a black rag top. FUN set of wheels.

I had a BSA A10 mororcycle with Watsonian double adult sidecar and used to carry the kit of a folk singing duo in it.
I often strapped drunken folk singers onto the roofrack - I didn't mind taking them home but the outside of the sidecar was more washable than the inside.
Those were the days.

Best car we ever owned was a 1979 Morris Marina in harvest gold which Ann owned when we first got married. It eventually got uneconomic for us to keep it roadworthy and we passed it on to Ann's cousin who restores classic cars. Sadly someone stole it from him and wrote it off. I also had an old Land Rover which was rough and ready but great fun, but only did 18 miles per gallon and eventually became unreliable. Now we have a modern French Renault Kangoo Trekka, small 4x4 which is more practical. One of my friends has recently purchased a 1965 London Routemaster bus, which despite its large size and having seats for 64 passengers actually does 12 mpg, and I was away for a trip with him on it yesterday - now that's a vehicle that sure turns heads, whether in town traffic or bowling along the slow lane of the motorway at 40mph.

I'd say the best car I ever owned was a 1967 Mustang which I purchased new.
