    Tartan Day in the Office

Here's the ensemble I wore for Tartan Day:

We also had a couple of ladies in the office with birthdays tomorrow. Since we have compressed work weeks and many of us are off work tomorrow, we celebrated today. Here I am with one of the birthday girls:

I told her the birthday girl needed a picture of the man in a kilt. She got me figured out though. She told me she knows how I get these pictures of me with the women. I told her "Yep, I just ask."

Cool pics. I take it that no-one has said anything to you about your Sgian Dubh?

Very nice. I think your picture is a great indicator of how professional one can look in a kilt.

    Evading the H.R. police -

This morning I came conventionally dressed, but changed at lunchtime into the kilt. (I'm the one on the left...) (on your left, not her left...) BTW, the good-looking one is an IT coworker and sometimes cycling partner. Yes, her skirt is nicely box pleated all around. FOCUS... on the kilt!

A couple of people noticed it. I was wearing a dummy one today though. I work on a military installation and I just didn't want to have to deal with any potential problems.

I think the jacket and tie really helps in that aspect. With those on I am at a higher level of formality than usual. Normally I wear slacks and a shirt, no jacket or tie.

    davedove,

Could you please start a new thread and give us a review of your leather dress sporran? It is new isn't it? I would like to know how you like it and where you got it.

Good judgment call on the sgian dhub, I think.

Although, wouldn't the modern equivalent be a pen sized stun gun?

    Hmmmmm.....

While I haven't gone for the full Scot dress regalia just yet, I think I would subsititute a more modern equivalent of the sgian dubh... namely, a Glock model 27.
