Gym music
I will search the threads, but while I am doing so, I wanted to ask for some advice on some highland music that may be appropriate for the gym. Masculine voices, maybe some grunting, fast music, but not a disco or dance type. Maybe along the lines of a gothic or metal, but with out the social deviance. Does that makes sense? I am looking for a Bon Jovi/Braveheart mix that I can work out to.
thanks guys. Be Fearless

Start with Corvus Corax. Think medieval music on bagpipes and other loud stuff meets Rammstein. http://www.corvuscorax.de
After that, go for Rare Air. They're one of my favorite bands, but sadly now defunct. I'd particularly recommend their New World CD. Although they be a bit too jazz influenced for your desires.

Off Kilter's stuff is good.
Any good rockin' bagpipe stuff is great, actually.
Power and Majesty by the Robert Shaw Chorale is excellent for workouts too.

I could go with any listed so far but I'll echo Colin and recommend BarleyJuice. Then go have some barleyjuice after the gym.

wow
Lots of good choices. I have spent the last two days looking up these bands and CD's, and will buy at least three, maybe 5 of them today. My wife is going to be shaking her head,,,"and why did you need 5 cd's of bagpipe rock while stationed in Baghdad". I have her convinced how hard it is for me over here. You should have herd her voice when I told her I had a maid.
Thanks everyone.

Jay,
I have just started back to the gym after way too long.
So here is what I have on my Ipod
Gaelic storm. Lots of good fast paced long sets.
I got the dvd and ripped them on to cds and my new Ipod.
they have a few slow songs but mainly very upbeat.

Enter the Haggis
A little more rock than pop.

Another recommendation for ClananDrumma.
A friend of mine who is a marine said
"Listening to Clan an Drumma is very tribal.
It makes men want to fight and women
want to mate."

I have been using the Ipod at the gym now for months. I loaded it up with all kinds of music. But, I have found the celtic beat very good for setting a pace on the eliptical.
Clann an Drumma/Albannach
Enter the Haggis
Mackeel
Dagda
I am working on getting some more on there. Hopefully Dropkick Murphys and such.
