    Fashion Kilts

So, does anybody own one of Kiltstore's fashion kilts? The ones that sit on the hips, etc etc. I love the look of them, especially the camos and the denims...are they comfy? Are they sweet? How does something traditional looking like that feel if it sits on the hips instead of the waist?

Gulp! Oh, dear! Yes, I have three of them! An 8yd camouflage, a 7yd denim and a 7yd muted brown woollen. (There are photos of all three on page 7 of my Photo Album).

The camo is quite soft, very comfortable and for cotton has an excellent swing (I also have the matching sporran); the denim is heavy and rather stiff (but I've not yet had reason to wash it or have it dry cleaned), and it's very comfortable (I also have a matching sporran for this one). The Muted Brown, is fabulous - I just love it and it, too, has a good 'swing'.

All thirteen of my TFCK kilts are hipsters. These, together with the three from KiltStore.net, are all casual kilts - as are my Kinloch Anderson Breacans, UnionKilts, BearKilts, Amerikilts..... There are only ten kilts in my Kollection that have the traditional 2" rise, all fourty-nine of the rest sit on the hips! Yes, they do feel different in the wearing, but that's almost a plus-point.

Actually, I like both the 'traditional' and the hipster. They each have their place, equally, in my daily kilt wearing schedules, and I'd say that every kilt wearer should have both styles in his wardrobe!

    Live the experience.

Aye, thankee Hamish. I should've known you had some

I have to admit, the one thing I don't like about my SWK is that it sits up on my waist...everything else about the kilt is so comfy, and I love the freedom. But unless I'm in a formal situation, in which I'm already expecting to be a bit uncomfortable, I'd rather the comfort around the hips that my pants offer...so it looks to me like I need some "hipster"-cut kilts. I do like the swing, though, so I'm not sure I'd like a UK...

Well, once again, Hamish is the bomb.

Yeah, Hamish tends to be like that from time to time..
