Thanks fellas, Alan the buckle is self made and you can get a close up of it in a fairly recent thread in the under "buckle and sporran clasp" I think. The sporran's still on the way. I chopped up my old cheapy only to find it was't all leather so I'm making one at the mo out an old leather satchel. wish me luck! my leathercraft is certainly in line for improvement.
W2F, if anyone's studied casual, that's me. Thar's got to be an oxymoron right there. ahh the irony...

Very nice! What tartan is it, or is it just some no-name fabric?

That looks like a rather large sett. Is it pleated to the stripe? Good looking kilt and outfit, btw.

I gotta get some decent kilt hose. The only shop near here that sells them only has white and off-white.

That's a County Westmeath tartan. I didn't put that in the post 'cause it was in the title. But there you have it!
Rigged, I believe it's pleated too the stripe. The tartan matches up perfectly. Maybe someone here can explain to me the types of pleating. The camera's out of power so I'll post a pic later on.

Pleated to sett means the design on the pleats is the same as on the apron. Pleated to stripe means a prominent stripe is centred on each pleat, so that the pleats look entirely different from the apron.
