Do you go afield as far as Woodland? See my post in the "Games" section.

If the vendors objected or if the clan tent folks objected then we could easily drop the information about X Marks vendors. The idea really is just to promote kilt-wearing and the web site. It's a social-hour, honestly.

I'd be wearing a tartan kilt while I sat at the tent, but others might wear Freedom kilts or Utilikilts or Pittsburgh kilts.

The impression I got was that tent space went for around $30. with that you get a couple of entry passes, so that's no big deal. We'd print off some stuff...I have access to a super-big sized printer so a sign is basically free for me. I have the tablecloths. I can borrow a table. Between the lot of us we can probably come up with a few books on kilt-wearing. If Wi-Fi is available I'll bring a laptop and hook it up and have the laptop pointed to the website.

And then we'll bring a cooler with some good ale in it, and sodas for the kids and just hang out.

Not sure what the games you go to are like, but at mine there are tents for that sort of thing on one side, whereas the vendor canopy tents are on the other side of the field. If the sole purpose is to meet up and promote kilt wearing, than just go the the "hang out" tent area, set up, and find away for people to want to come to you, maybe have the bigger party than the beer tent.

Just make sure you check and see what the local games's rules are about bringing in your own beer. Many of them, especially ones with beer tents, sya that BYOB is strictly verboten, although that rule does get broken "on occasion".

I'll gladly put a poster up in my booth. However a 10'x10' booth space is a premium. I will be happy to pass the word out about Xmarks and I have in the past. Of course always glad to meet a fellow member at the games. There are times though I am run off my feet so I might not be able to chat...but there is the beer tent and the odd time might be able to find a wee dram of something if it isn't too busy
I'm pretty much booked every weekend for Highland games from the middle of May till middle of September . So I will get to see a lot of folk
One could ask to leave flyers at the information kiosks at games....or corner a section of the beer tent.
So if you are attending games in Ontario, drop by and say hello, Machummel will be at a number of games too so make sure you say hi to him as well.

You oughta see all the booze, mainly whiskey being sold as fund raisers and flask passing. Clan Cian almost always has a chest full of Beer/Ale (Guiness of course). Water is also good and lots of ice. Now you quys are getting it. Cheese and crackers!

I'm not sure. When I asked Seamus, he said "Livermore". I gotta check again and ask. He grew taller than his hair and the sun is that hot on his pate! Somtimes I have to remind him. Slainte
