    as for the shoes, where did you get extra-high top chucks? While I wouldn't every pretend to wear those as hiking shoes, they do look very cool.

    I had a pair of them some 15 years ago...very hard to find these days.

    If you have never worn converse chucks before, know this. The rubber on the front is fairly easily torn, so no rugby or mountain climbing if you want to keep them looking in good condition.

    oh, one very popular way to wear those particular shoes is to only lace them up half way, and turn the unlaced tops down. Not sure how that would look with a kilt, but if you do decide to try it, use tube socks instead of traditional hose, and push them down to the top of the shoe.

    Go to www.converse.com and do a search for "X-Hi" and you'll get three pages of them. Too bad they don't go up to US size 13.

    Type in 13.5 for the size and it will reduce it down to Converse size 13, they actually claim to have size 13.

    When doing the US to "Converse sizing" on this particular style, I was unable to find anything but women's sizes in 13.
