Will anyone be attending the games in Gatlinburg, May 20-21? I'll be there as a visitor. Our clan is not hosting a tent this year. I've booked a hotel room, so we have to go now

Hey, I'll be there, at the Scottish Tartans Museum tent all weekend.

I'll be giving a seminar/lecture on Sunday at 11:45.

ME: Oh, not long, about 2-3 days (runs out the door!)

Looks like I will be batching it for the weekend. In-law's are in town, so I will drive down Friday after my daughter's recital. Will get in late. Can anybody recommend a campground not too far away?

Are you thinking RV camping or tent camping? The games website listed

And tent camping should be available in the GSMNP.

I'll be staying at the Sleep Inn down the road from the games Saturday night.
We're not leaving until Saturday morning. We should get there around 10ish.

I would love to go to Gatlinburg...I tried to steer my family reunion there a couple of years ago but the GDFL's* wouldn't buy it.

I'll broach the subject with the family....doesn't look good for road trips this year, though.

(GDFL = Got Dam Flat Landers....most of them are from Kansas and Nebraska (and not the hilly parts, either.)
