I am going to have to start reading these books, I think. As for an ankle-length kilt ... no, a little to Mesopotamian (or am I thinking Sumerian?) for my taste. My two longest kilts hit me at mid-knee, so I can appreciate a slightly longer length, but ...
Of course, now I'm going to go look and see if I still have the link my brother sent me for Macabi skirts (what Riverkilt is wearing in his unkilted but still unbifurcated pictures). Maybe something calf-length ...
