We do have trees and logs to deal with, however.
Right now, he's in school and already on the computer too much. I'll hold off on introducing him here until after the school year ends.
There's always mowing the lawn.

Just curious - what tartan has D'Argo chosen? Given the number of professional and amateur kiltmakers here, someone may know an inexpensive source of it.
Now I'm picturing "FarScape" with kilted Luxans ...

Hello, Kizmet!
There are relatively inexpensive alternatives, and....and...
hold your breath here....
If you have a sewing machine and some patience, you could make him a kilt. I've done it, a number of the guys on the board here have done it. If he's hot for a particular tartan, then that's tricky, but there are outlets for buying wool and wool-blends without absolutely breaking the bank.
My first kilt which I did pretty much blindly but came out reasonably OK, took me 19 hours to make. If you're an experienced seamstress you might knock 6-8 hours off of that for your first one, if you use velcro closure and stuff like that.

While I am an accomplished seamstress, and a kilt is probably not beyond my capabilities, it's not an appealing challenge right now. I'm homeschooling three daughters, over-active in my church and writing a novel.
D'Argo can buy his kilt.
He's picked the Ramsay tartan, because it's blue.

I hear you on that--I'm a home schooling mom myself.

Teach the girls how to make a kilt and call it part of home economics?

There is an alternative ( especially for a first kilt ). There are a few different tartans "tanks" on E-bay for about $50. Tartan hiker and I have both partaken of these ( mine should be delivered today or tomorrow). These would be great for a first kilt as they are of decent quality and far less costly than most kilts.

I have a Ramsay USA Kilt, their off-the-rack-model. In fact I'm wearing it as I write this and it's great.
