I can't expand of course on your experience of the kilt Derek, but I think I follow you.
It's fairly multifaceted for me. In a way wearing a kilt connects me with a more noble past, through my family's history. It's like my psyche remembers it, like when you smell something from your childhood and it all comes rushing back, only more elusive.
And it feels GOOD.Looks good, and comfortable too.
