How many buttons?

I am just doing two up the sleeves on mine and using a chain/button closure for the front....

Most PCs have three up each side in the front and three up the sleeves I think....

I figured fewer buttons = less formal = less expensive to do.......

I'd go with whatever the normal is for a PC jacket.

Did you try on a kilt jacket, or a tux jacket in Salt Lake. I have never had an issue with tux jackets being different in sizing than a suit jacket, but I found that kilt jackets usually require one size up. Should make for a nic eformal jacket. I would do three buttons in the front (each side) and three on each sleeve like a Prince Charlie.
