Protect your beards, lads!
It doesn't take long here to figure out, through avatars, posted pics, and discussion, that several of our members sport whiskers of one sort or another. Well, I've noticed a disturbing trend around where I live: friends, coworkers, and classmates with facial hair are losing it! Beards gone, goatees vanishing.
I don't know if this is a consequence of the change in seasons, a change in fashion, or some sinister plot to deprive us of our beloved facial hair. Be on the lookout, men, be on the lookout...

Y'know, it might be a situation like mine, the lady says either the beard or kisses. My wife and other ladies I know hate beards (even though some don't say so to their spouse or boyfriend). They say it's like kissing a scrub brush, porcupine or wad of barbed wire. This may explain why beards come into fashion and then disappear again so quickly. I know I'll take the kisses over the beard any time.

My lady asked me to shave mine off.
I did so, came out of the bathroom freshly-shorn, and she looked at me, kissed me, and said...
"Grow it back."

Excellent thread! I've had my goatee/stache for 3 years now, and my wife normally loves the look. Once in awhile she'll suggest I shave it off, but isn't terribly serious about the request. Good thing, because I have no interest in going clean-shaven any time soon. I look young enough as it is...I need the facial-fur to add some age.

Mine is canonically required, so to speak, so I'm probably safe....but for how long?

Mine going nowhere. Shaved it off once. No one recognized me, and I looked like I was 18. It's not something I want to go through again! Besides, shaving every day is a real pain in the butt, and decent razors are getting expensive these day. Can't have them cutting into my baby and kilt funds!

I have kept a goatee for the past 8 or 9 months. I shaved it off briefly, and hated it. I looked 15 again (I'm 21 currently). So I keep it, and probably will for some time.
Unfortunately, I am not faced with the kisses v. facial hair dilemma
