Harvard Sq. is in my opinion a great place to be kilted. As I'm sure you know, Boston has lots of Irish pubs too, most of which would make great venues. Many of these places have good food too, an added bonus.
Anyway, it's in the works.
I'll be staying with family, but I'll be taking the T up to boston, prolly to South Station.

Coming through South Station, we'll have to find a pub in the downtown area. Not too hard to do. I'll be downtown in the next couple of days, so I'll start scouting a few places out.

Boston kilt night
Seeing as how that's a Friday, I might be able to make it down. As for location, anyplace with decent T access would be fine with me. (I usually park out and take the T into the City.)

The Black Rose
The Black Rose In Fanual Hall is a good Irish bar.
I typically avoid Fanual hall on friday- saturday nights.
it gets completly full of dipsticks...on the other hand, always lots of lasses to ogle at....
Persomal favorite would be JJ Foleys Near downtown crossing. It is a little dark, and hidden. but it pours a great Guiness.

knowing how people are up there, you really think anyone will mess with a small army of Xmarkers out on the town? I seriously doubt it.
I'm up for anything...

There is a whole block of pubs near the Union Oyster House. Seems like thats been the spot to open an Irish pub lately. A guy I know owns one, but don't ask me the name. I'll get ahold of him and see if he might do something for us. Also, there is a huge Irish pub at Center Plaza, opposite city hall. My money would be on that one being a hoot. There's a place on Beacon St, The 21st amendment, I believe is the name, amd MR Dooleys on Broad St. JJ Foley's, last time I was there, was filled with Bike messengers, and cabbies. Of course, if one wanted to drink in a place like that we could always go the other way and walk over the bridge into Southie and drink at Luckys on Congress St at A. Choices, choices, choices.

mmm..Union Oyster House..that place is fantastic.
my vote is...the more people the merrier. If we wanted to go out and find a hole in the wall with five other people, just about any place will work. I'm thinking someplace with lots of people for all kinds of fun!
bring on the kilted kraziness!

KT, not my worry at all. It is mostly that you have to stand in line to get in anywhere after 9 in that area...

Rich, good point about standing in line. It does suck. The place up at center plaza would probably not have a line as it is really big. I also think there will be a lot of people (females) there. Any of the Fanuel Hall area establishments are bound to packed, which could be fun, but also probably would include standing in line. I'll have to give this subject some more thought. There are lots of great pubs, but trying to stick with an easy to find location for out of towners isn't as easy as it should be.
