I think I'd leave the flashes off, since a UK isn't Scottish, so it doesn't need to have the flashes. I'd also be more tempted to team a black survival with black kilt hose (or just black knee socks - don't even have to have a turnover or be as thick as kilt hose - the important thing is that they come to the knee, that's all). Off-white is a bit too much of a contrast for the black survival. Maybe a gray or brown shirt to go along with it. Talk it over with your wife, with respect to the shirt combination.

Hamish gave me the following advice:

"If you must wear flashes with a Utilikilt (!) try matching the kilt colour"

I would go with the off white kilt hose, black flashes, black shoes (but not dress shoes), and a light colored shirt to tie in the hose with the black UK.

    That's my advice

    Cheers

When I got my all black heavyweight, the kilt supplier included a pair of black flashes to match, although I only ever wear the flashes on a formal occasion.

If you have one, I sugeest wearing a fisherman sweater with your kilt. I have a black Mocker and wear my fisherman...it's one of my wife's favorite outfits for me to wear

Another option is to wear a Jacobite shirt

What is a fisherman's sweater? I usually don't like to wear sweaters as I get way too warm in them. We'll be going out to eat after and I it would be warm at Red Lobster too.

    $1,125!

You think we'd spend twice the amount of money on a sweater than we would a good kilt?

not me. If I'm going to spend that much on a sweater, it sure as hell better have a shapely lassie in it!

    ( or a 16oz strome tartan tank ..hmmmm...decisions...)
