Iraqi Freedom Kilt update
I am such a happy guy right now. I just received an email from Matt Newsome over at the Scottish Tartan Museum;
I just spoke to the woolen mill on the phone today and they have completed The Operation Iraqi Freedom; PSD Tartan and are getting ready to send it out to me. I usually get these packages in 10 to 14 days or so. So we are almost there!
I can just feel the swish of the scottish wool on my legs now. Although, by the time Matt ships it to me, it will be 130 degrees in Baghdad, I can deal with that. I am sure we will wear them for a few adult beverages in the common room, and of course, the plan is to wear it home in August at my end of mission.

Glad to hear it's coming together for you. What will the Iraqi's think with a band of kilted warriors roaming the streets!!

Congratulations, Jay...I hope your loved ones are there to greet and welcome you home, and that they take a lot of pics of you in your new kilt as you disembark from the plane. I'll be there to do the same thing for my good buddy Sean when he gets home in mid-June.

What's this tartan look like? Spent a year over there with the 101st Airborne. Probably will go back with the 82nd. Definitely sounds like one I could wear. As far as what the Iraqis might think about kilted warriors, who knows. They are a very superstitious bunch. We had one that was deathly afraid of green M1 tanks, but not of the tan ones. He said the green ones were evil.
