Scottish "Pouches"
Here's what looks like a decent sporran for a good price. Looking at the description, it's supposed to hold 5 cans of beer, so it musy be fair sized as well.
You can find them here:

Renstore/Chivalry Sports generally carries items of reasonable quality. I've seen those pouches firsthand, and they're excellent for the price.
Not to mention that I can get both fists into the pouch at the same time, unlike most other sporrans.

I have purchased items from them before and been satisfied with the product. I will probably have to pick up a couple of these, one in each color.

Not bad. Better than most Ren Faire stuff.
I enjoy Ren Faires, but most of the clothing is not suitable for modern kilt wear. I always chuckle (to myself) when I see a guy in full Ren Faire garb at Scottish games or Celtic festivals.
I don't wear a kilt to Ren Faires.

Keep in mind that no matter how many beers you can fit in the sporran, if they are cold, they will sweat. The condensation will leak from the bottom of your sporran ( staining the leather in the process ) and get all over your kilt apron. While the kilt will probably not even notice, to most people this will appear to be an "accident", which is not something that most people find enjoyable.
To avoid this entirely, switch to highland single-malt in a flask. No problems with condensation or "accident". If you do wind up with an accident, either you have empited your flask and are about to fall over, or your flask spilled it's contents into your sprorran. If the flask empited accidentally, you get what you deserve. An unsecured flask is a very bad thing. If you've seen "full metal jacket" and have seen what happens when you have an unsecured foot locker, you get my meaning.

That depends. I've seen some good costuming by the folks that do the reenactors' booths at the Highland Games.
The pouches shown could be easily used as modern daywear - the Blackthorn and Rob Roy sporrans look very similar.

This is fine advice, but the fact is, on a hot day, whisky will not refresh you like a cold beer will.
We need insulated cooler sporrans.

I will repeat my warning: if you're changing altitude, make sure your flask is FULL. No air.
I've collapsed two in coming down from the high country with an empty flask - the air pressure dented both of them, one in steel, one in pewter.

The same holds true in going from low elevations to high
the flask will expand

Hmm...sounds like a great reason to carry a back-up flask!
does anyone know if they have flask-filling stations on everest? Would be really nice to prevent a dented flask.
