Check both the couch and the cabinet with the single malt. Prolly in there somewhere.
Also try a crafts store, they usually have stuff that small.
can you post a pic of the other crown nuts still attached to the sporran so we can get a much better idea what we are talking about?

I took a look at my sporran, which is very similar to yours and found that while the piece is in deed threaded, it isn't a nut that is missing. It appears to me that the screw head itself is has broken off. One of the screws holding the cantle on my sporran has broken as well. The screws that hold the metal cantle are attached through the back of the sporran flap, and screw into the cantle from behind. If you look closely at the front of the cantle, you will see that the area where the screw would logically come through has been ground down.
I am not sure if this type of problem can be fixed without replacing the cantle all together.
I'll post some pics here in a minute..

ok..here we go..
this is a pic of the cantle on my sporran.
here is a pic of the back of my sporran flap. The black spots are where the cantle attaches to the sporran flap.

and now for the nuts and bolts...
here is a pic of the screw holding the sporran to the leather. It is threaded like the one you have.
and here is a look into the hole which that hole passes through. The "nut" is still attached to the back of the sporran, and it appears to have actually broken off, and is not a traditional nut.
if you look at the pics of the cantle above, you will notice that the areas ( the five corners) do not have a raised bump like the rest of the edge of the cantle. It appears to me that the screw goes through the back of the sporran flap and screws into the cantle from behind.
In my opinion, the screw head broke off the screw holding your cantle on.
any one else have any ideas?

I can see the problem, but I'll have to let someone who has that type of sporran step in with a solution.

not quite
kT,
it's similar but not quite what's wrong with my father's sporran. In my case the cantle has threaded posts that stick through the leather and then each post has a cap nut tightened onto it. I can actually unscrew the nuts from the other posts.....I wish I had a digital cam to show you.
I'm going to have to measure them I think to find the correct size. I'll try looking online...if no luck, I may have to take you up on your offer Southern Breeze.

How small are they? I may be able to find some locally. There's a LOT of industrial supply stores here.
