    well, if you have no luck finding a proper nut, there is one other solution.

    while not preferred, you can position the cantle as it is supposed to fit, and put a bunch of crazy glue in the hole around the screw. It will bond both to the leather and the metal almost instantly, and you will have a devil of a time getting them apart.

    You might also want to try a jeweller. They will have lots of tiny screws that go in watches, and might have one that fits.

    If you have trouble measuring it take it to a jeweler or machinist. They've got the tools to measure it correctly. They may have a replacement or know were to get one. Keep us informed of your progress and good luck.
