All right, I'm moving all my stuff into storage tomorrow, so this is where I sign off the forum. I'll try to post some updates as I go along for the next five months, but everyone's welcome to follow along in my journal and photos.
Andrew.

Another update from mile 265.3 - Big Bear City, CA.
I'm still wearing the kilt, of course, but in the desert the combination of sweat and dust is creating some serious chaffing. Even with Body Glide, the dust (which is just kicked up in th air as I hike 20 miles a day) sticks to that. So I've been wearing boxer briefs for a few days to let the chaffing settle down, but I may have to wear them a little longer, as I still have 350-400 more miles of desert to cross. I hope to go back to my usual (and far more comfortable) regimentalism once I'm out of the desert.
That was probably more information than all of you needed, but I'm hoping that my experiences can help others out.
Still trekking,
Andrew.

Big Bear already? Damn, I was hoping to meet you when you came through my area, but I'm too buried with school work - it's the week before finals.
Oh well, have a good trip.

1650 mile hike, in a kilt, through varied terrain, and you're worried that we will be concerned that you are wearing underwear, or that you let us know. Let the first person to tackle the same trip cast the first stone, certainly not me!

You keep on truckin' Andrew. My hiking season starts in 2 weeks and I can't wait to get out there.
I'll hoist a flask in your honor the first time I hit the summit of Graybeard Mtn.

That's 2,650 miles!
I'm now at mile 454, Agua Dulce, CA. I'll be here for a few days, since it's a really great spot for hikers to rest!
I just bought a new extra-large stick of Body Glide....
Andrew.
