Are you thinking RV camping or tent camping? The games website listed
Twin Creek RV Resort:Enjoy your stay for the Scottish Festival at Twin Creek RV Resort. 3 minute trolley ride from Resort on Highway 321N 800-252-8077.
And I'm sure there is KOA somewhere nearby. Maybe....
And tent camping should be available in the GSMNP.
I'll be staying at the Sleep Inn down the road from the games Saturday night.
We're not leaving until Saturday morning. We should get there around 10ish.

I would love to go to Gatlinburg...I tried to steer my family reunion there a couple of years ago but the GDFL's* wouldn't buy it.
I'll broach the subject with the family....doesn't look good for road trips this year, though.

Speak Up
Ok, I'm bumping this back up to the top. The games are a week away. People have mentioned on a couple of other threads, that they are coming to the games. Can we get a roll call of those of you who are planning to come?
And some ideas of a time and place to meet. Someone mentioned Matt's Museum tent, but I don't want to volunteer his space, but if he's cool with it, it might be a good spot. We should just come up with a time. And let's quote a time in the Eastern time zone (local time in G'burg).
I'm looking forward to it. It'll be my first time at these games. If you have an XMarks T-shirt, wear it if you can.

I'm going to be there. We may have about 6-8 in the crowd, but I may very well be the only kilted one.

Heathbar,
I am finally confirmed. I will be driving in Friday evening and staying at Twin Creeks RV Resort (if they confirm my reservation!). Given that I will be in a campground with my trailer anyway, and close to the games, I can offer it as a meeting place, before, during, or after the festivities, or just as a place to hang out.
I am hoping to be in by around 8:00 Friday, so plenty early enough for anyone who wants to get together for a drink (and help set up the RV, I will povide beer and wine!).
I will be batching it this time, my in-laws are coming into town, so my wife and daughters are staying behind.

I am tentatively going to try to go for Saturday. I'm not sure yet that I can, given some scheduling issues, but I'm sure gonna try!
I haven't lost my "winter 20" yet, so I may not be able to squeeze my butt into a kilt yet! Thank God for 4" wide belts that double as girdles! LOL

Hey Barclay, I can bring an XL Gray SportKilt that I bought and never wore. It was too big from the start, but I was too lazy to send it back!
